Description

Taken across three rare, moon free nights in early November this has been a seriously new type of processing for me.  Continually questioning how far I was willing to push the data!  While I appreciate this is likely pushed beyond what the data should realistically handle, it seemed the only way to emphasise the dust spread throughout this area and bring the image to life.  Without star extraction and NoiseXTerminator, I'm not sure this would have been possible - certainly not in my hands.

Even with double or triple the data I think my skies (Bortle 6/5) will always be a challenge for dark, dusty stuff.  I whittled down around 13 hours of original data into the best ~10 hours.

I hope you can find something to enjoy across the frame that includes four NGC star clusters and three Sharpless objects - the biggest being SH2-177 on the right and the smallest being Sh2-179 (a planetary nebula).  Some dedicated Ha could have really brought the Sharpless objects alive - maybe another day when I have that possible with the scope and equipment.

Thanks for looking.
